Welcome to Badger State Farm: A Place Where Education and Community Thrive
Nestled in the heart of Wisconsin Rapids lies Badger State Farm, an educational oasis dedicated to enriching lives and cultivating knowledge. With a mission that transcends boundaries, Badger State aims to raise funds to support not just their local community, but also their country and the world beyond.
A Diverse and Flourishing Farm
Stepping onto Badger State's grounds is like entering a living classroom. Its adorable residents include goats, sheep, rabbits, chickens, ducks, turkeys, quail, and geese, each with its own story to tell. But the magic doesn’t stop with the animals. The farm proudly nurtures 16 varieties of berry plants, 15 types of fruit trees, and a vibrant garden—offering a bounty of fresh produce. And in 2025, an exciting addition awaits visitors: a wheelchair-accessible educational workshop facility, ensuring that learning is inclusive for all.
Sowing Seeds of Knowledge
Badger State Farm's core purpose is to educate. By teaching visitors about animal care and the origins of their food, the farm bridges the gap between people and nature. Their programs inspire a deeper appreciation for sustainability and the interconnectedness of our world.
Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA): A New Way to Connect
One of the most exciting developments at Badger State is its new food shareholder program, akin to a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). This initiative not only provides participants with farm-fresh produce but also strengthens the bond between the farm and its supporters. Imagine knowing exactly where your food comes from—straight from the hands of a community that values quality and care.
Join the Meal Exchange Program
For those looking to make an even greater impact, Badger State is seeking leaders and assistants for their Meal Exchange Program. Meeting on the first Thursday of every month, this program involves organizing meals for exchange, coordinating "Stay and Play" activities, and delivering extra meals to patients recovering from surgery. Volunteers may have the chance to collaborate with local healthcare facilities such as Marshfield Clinic and Aspirus, further embedding the program into the fabric of Wisconsin Rapids' community care network.
